Mercedes will integrate the new Automotive AI Agent for Google Cloud

Today Google Cloud is launching Automotive AI Agent, a new way for automakers to create useful AI manufacturing experiences. Built using Gemini by Vertex AI, the Automotive AI Agent is specially tuned to allow automakers to create highly personalized and intuitive in-car agents that go beyond current car voice controls. Its ability to provide multiple views and support in multiple languages enables assistants to power natural conversations and agent responses such as “Is there an Italian restaurant nearby?” and follow-up questions like, “Does the restaurant have good reviews?” or “What is the most popular dish there?”
Mercedes-Benz is among the first automakers to use the Automotive AI Agent in the MBUX Virtual Assistant, coming to the new Mercedes-Benz CLA later this year. The improved MBUX Virtual Assistant, which offers new and authentic information from the Google Maps Platform, will allow drivers and passengers to use voice commands to get complete and personalized information about places of interest, traffic conditions and more, in seconds. Google Cloud's Automotive AI Agent will also enable the MBUX Virtual Assistant to handle complex, multi-variable conversations and remember conversations, so drivers can stop and start talking and pick up where they left off.
