Google is investing in its first data center in the Alps.

Google has been a proud part of the Austrian state for years, and today, we are announcing our first data center in Kronstorf, generating 100 direct jobs. The center will meet the growing demand for Google's digital services and AI capabilities, ensuring that Austria remains at the forefront of innovation. It is also part of the continued investment in digital infrastructure across Europe, opening up the continent's competitiveness through AI and digital technologies.
We are committed to growing responsibly by prioritizing sustainability and community health. In Kronstorf, this includes setting up a fund to improve the water quality of the local Enns River and the Upper Austrian Fisheries Association, including a green roof with solar panels and ensuring that the data center is designed to recover heat from the outside, directly contributing to the regional energy transition.
In order to support the local workforce, we are introducing a skills partnership with the University of Applied Science Upper Austria. This initiative builds on our history of training over 140,000 Austrians, providing the knowledge needed to navigate and lead in an AI-driven economy.
