cooling tool that you can use to greatly increase your code output. However, Claude Code can be used for more than just programming. You can use Claude Code for any work you do on your computer.
Whenever I get a new task to complete, my first thought is, “How can I do this task using Claude Code?” To highlight how you can use Claude's Code in non-technical tasks as well, I will cover three different non-technical application areas where I use Claude's Code to successfully complete tasks.
Why use Claude Code for non-technical tasks?
First, I want to make an explanation. When I say non-technical tasks in this context, I'm referring to any work you do on your computer that doesn't explicitly involve writing code. These are, of course, tasks that different job roles such as marketing, customer success, and sales must perform, but engineers also have to perform many non-technical tasks. These can be tasks like:
- Making presentations
- Answering emails and messages
- Posting on social media
So, I would argue that there are many non-technical jobs where you should use Claude Code, even if you work in a technical role.
The main reason you should use Claude Code for non-technical tasks is, of course, that it will save you a lot of time. Instead of making a presentation from scratch, you should just ask Claude Code to make a presentation for you in your company's color theme, which is much more efficient than making a presentation yourself from scratch.
In the next section, I will cover three non-technical areas where I use the Claude Code and how I use it.
Three non-technical areas of the Claude Code
Whenever I explain different concepts to people, I like to give examples. And the best examples are my experience. So, I'll use this section to explain my specific non-technical use cases when using Claude's Code. This should give you some inspiration on what kind of jobs you can do with Claude Code and how to do them. In general, however, I believe that Claude Code and other coding agents can be used for many tasks. And I just urge you, whenever you get a new task, to think about how you can use coding agents to complete it. The main point I want to get across in this article is that a job doesn't have to be technical to apply LLMs to. LLMs can be easily and effectively applied to non-technical jobs.
1. Making presentations
One of the most important tasks I use Claude Code to do is to make presentations. At first, when I was using coding agents, I didn't think of this as an application area, and I made presentations using tools like PowerPoint and Pitch.
Then it suddenly occurred to me one day that:
Why don't I do this with Claude Code instead?
So, I started to figure out how to use the Claude Code to make my presentations and how to make them as effective as possible. Now, practically every presentation I make has Claude Code, and I rarely use other tools like PowerPoint.
To introduce Claude Code, I tell it to write LaTeX code, which is a programming language you can use to generate PDFs, for example. LaTeX is often used in scientific papers because it is very effective in producing structured documents. However, it can also generate PDFs where each page in the PDF is a slide in your presentation, and you can use that presentation.
You don't really need to set anything up yourself; just tell Claude Code that I want to make a presentation using LaTeX, please edit it for me and install the necessary packages. Then tell it the content of your presentation and have it do it.
Another tip I urge you to do is to keep all your presentations in one folder, so whenever you start a new presentation, Claude Code can access your previous presentations. Then you can easily refer to previous presentations if you are looking for a specific theme, pattern, graph, etc.
One of the biggest advantages of using coding agents is that they can build on previous work. They don't just do the work alone, like making a single presentation. They can also look at previous presentations you have made, and they will be more effective in any subsequent presentations you make after that, because they know your preferences and how you like to make presentations.
And, if, for example, you have a theme that you use regularly in your company, which is very common when you make presentations, you can let me know the structure code of this theme and tell it to ensure that all your presentations follow that theme.
2. Finding information from my knowledge base
If you're like me, you probably have a lot of information stored in many different sources, such as:
- An idea
- Local files on your computer
- Google Drive
- Comfort
And probably a huge variety of different sources. This can be very annoying at times, because if you want to find a certain piece of information, you have to first figure out in which system it is stored and then find that information in the application. If you want to find a specific message you received from someone, for example, you may need to look through both messages on your phone, your email, and your Slack before finding the right message.
This is, of course, a very time-consuming process that can be made more efficient by using coding agents like Claude Code. Instead of manually searching these apps for information, you can give Claude Code or another code agent you use access to all apps. This is made much easier using API keys that you can download from every online application these days. You can give these API keys to Claude Code so it can access information from your email, Notion, Google Drive, and Slack. And you can have your coding agent search all the information at once.
This is, of course, more efficient than manually searching through different applications to find a specific piece of information. And this probably saves me hours every week, and of course, a lot of frustration.
3. Access to sales
Another cool non-technical activity I use for Claude Code is Sales Outreach. Sales Outreach is, of course, a large field that encompasses many different functions. However, most of them can be done very effectively using Claude Code.
These can be tasks like:
- Finding the right prospects for your ICP.
- Creating custom messages for each prospect, tailored to their job title and company.
- Editing your CRM by updating it with new prospects, adding missing information, and deleting irrelevant prospects.
There are probably many additional functions within sales or marketing in general that you can apply the Claude Code to. However, I'm just putting together some of the functions I've obviously used it for.
Also, when you do this, I urge you to have a separate folder where you do all your sales with Claude Code so that Claude can access all the information about the sales process. This folder should, for example, contain information like this:
- A general forum about your company, what it does, what its purpose is, and more
- Perfect customer profile, so it knows who to target and who to ignore
Then, if, for example, you want to find new opportunities, you can tell Claude Code to go online and find opportunities for you, given certain criteria such as which countries to look at and which job positions to target. You can ask it to create custom messages for each prospect it receives. And you can have it update your CRM with all these new prospects, add their information, the messages you send to them, and more.
The conclusion
In this article, I've covered how you can use Claude Code for non-technical tasks. The main point I am making in this article is that Claude Code and other coding agents are not only suitable for technical tasks like programming, but can be used for any other task you do on your computer. To clarify, I gave some examples from my experience of how I used Claude's Code in non-technical activities, where I included making presentations, getting information from your knowledge base, and making sales. In general, I think your first thought when approaching a new problem should be how you can use LLMs and agents to solve it. In most cases, simply telling the agent at once will solve 80-100% of the problem. Therefore, I urge you to keep in mind how you can apply the Claude Code to any task you encounter so that you can be more efficient in doing your job.
