Tips for using Google's Ask Photos button and Ask Photos features

Ask Photos on Google Photos is a powerful tool that uses Gemini models to search through your large photo gallery to find what you're looking for. While Asking Photos helps you find photos and information in your library, the new Ask button helps you do more: When you view your photo, you can start a conversation and get answers about its content, find related moments or simply describe the editing you want and watch the changes unfold.

Ask Photos is available in multiple countries and languages, and the Ask button is now available for eligible users on Android and iOS in the US — here are nine ways you can use both Ask Photos and the Ask button to do more with your photos.

1. Learn more about the area

I take a lot of pictures while traveling, and admittedly I don't always know the details of what I'm photographing. While looking at hiking photos from my trip, I used Ask Photos to find my landscape photos from Slovenia. I realized that I couldn't remember the names of many of the places or routes I had taken — but Google Images found them for me in seconds.
