Inside an in-depth tutorial on Kaggle AI Agents by Google

After setting a Guinness World Record in April with over 280,000 participants in Kaggle's 5-day GenAI and Google intensive course, we thought we'd see a peak in global interest. However, the excitement was growing. Our partnership with Kaggle to host the 5-Day Intensive Course for AI Agents has exceeded all expectations, welcoming over 1.5 million students from around the world. Together, we explored the frontier of AI agents that move beyond chatbots to systems that can think, plan and act to solve complex, real-world problems. The response was overwhelming, and confirmed what we've long believed: the engineering community is ready for what's next.
Content
Building on the foundation of our previous GenAI in-depth, this course dives deeper into the practicalities of AI agents. We explored how AI agents actually work, where they shine and the challenges developers face, when designing and deploying them to production.
Students received hands-on guidance from a lineup of expert speakers, including leaders from Google, as well as industry leaders from Cohere, Reified and NVIDIA. Sessions emphasized real-world applications, architectural decisions and emerging best practices – equipping participants with skills they can use immediately.
If you missed the intensive in November, all coursework has now been converted to a Kaggle Study Guide.
Community
We are inspired by the energy and enthusiasm from the Kaggle community. Throughout the week, students interacted, collaborated and shared ideas at an amazing rate:
- 160,000+ students join the conversation on Kaggle's Discord
- 2 million views on the subject's white papers, indicating a strong interest in the concept.
- 3.3 million views on academic notebooks, showing a strong appetite for technical depth
Capstone projects
Capstone projects cover the week, turning learning into action around the world. We received more than 11,000 submissions, many from the collaborative teams that formed during the course to bring bold ideas to life.
The projects showcased the creativity, technical ability and imagination of the global AI community. From active agent-based workflows to dynamic multi-agent systems, the quality and diversity of deployments have made it incredibly difficult to reduce high-profile entries. You can check out all the winning teams and their capstone projects here.
What's next
Whether you participated in the capstone project or attended the sessions, your involvement made this course a great success. Studying alongside such a motivated and enthusiastic community has been truly inspiring.
We're already looking forward to another deep return with Google in 2026. In the meantime, you can continue to hone your skills with ongoing Kaggle competitions and stay connected with your fellow classmates on the Kaggle Discord. For those who missed a lot in November but still want to learn, all course content is now available as a Kaggle Learn guide.
Thanks to everyone who joined us — we can't wait to see what you build next.
