Turn your headphones into a personal live translator on iOS.

Google Translate live translation with headphones is officially coming to iOS! And we're expanding the capabilities of both iOS and Android users to even more countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Thailand, and the UK Live translate helps you quickly understand and communicate with the world through any headphones in 70+ languages.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to use it:

  • Deepening my connection with family: Dinners with aunts and uncles chatting in Punjabi used to be like watching a movie without subtitles. With live translation, I can keep up with the conversation and jokes in real time.
  • Understanding the world as I go: Live translation is a game changer for getting recommendations, listening to train announcements and communicating with fellow passengers. Because it retains the original speaker's tone and expression, I get not only the exact words, but also the vibe of the city and the people who make it special.

To try it out, open the Translate app, tap “Live translate” and plug in your headphones.
