Google supports computer education week

For decades, Google has sponsored the Computer Science Education Week (CSEDWEEk) to introduce coding and computational thinking. This year during CSEDWEEK, we are sharing a global AI hour alongside our Coder.org Partners (CSTA), to help educators better understand, use and build with AI. Towards this goal, we are introducing a new passion met with our emphasis, AI scholarships, bringing AI learning experiences to classrooms in a hands-on way, and announcing more than $5 in funding for computer science funds.

Introducing a New Desire

Hundreds of Googler volunteers around the world are visiting classrooms this week to lead AI measurements, our game-based learning series developed through the Stanford learning accelerator. Today, we are releasing a new quest where students step into the shoes of investigators and use an AI model to diagnose eye diseases and prevent blindness. This quest is inspired by our real-world research into diabetic retinopathy. It can be accessed for free along with our current flood search and teacher-friendly resources.

We are working with partners to bring AI streams to more classrooms by 2026. One collaboration is the Raspberry PI Foundation and Google Depmind, recognized for their AI ambitions from Google.org and integrated AI applications in their curriculum.
