Nautilus, the tiger, and the spirituality of evil – the supporter of margicinan
We are the only captive animals in a cage of its making. Its barriers can look like many things – the screen, the self, the scintillation of existence – but it comes from within it we look and call our little views, wasting time wasting our humanity.
Few gave a more powerful key to the cage than William Henry Hudson (August 4, 1841 – August 18, who received generations of his best fishing, from Henry James and Virginia Woolf to Rebecca Solnit and Robert Macfarlane.
All viewers, even the most distant viewers, are still a product of their time and place. At a time when hunting was a popular pastime and science studied species as dead species, Hudson recounts how he began to approach nature 'as a hoarder, constantly killing things.' But he was overwhelmed by the restless sense that he was paying a high price for this violent evil of his molding with other creatures, and left some part of his violence.
In the end, he sold a gun, binoculars and a field notebook, determined to understand living creatures on their own terms, to collect not bodies but to be seen, to hunt not for game but for the play of ideas in the mind.
Although he called himself a field – natural science, Hudson wrote about what he saw in the scientists' thirst for truth, the philosopher's hunger for danger, and the poet's love for the complex wonder of life. On his departure in 1919 Memoir The Natural Book (Community Domain), looks back on what he got from his contribution to Arave:
Preventing slaughter would have made me a better observer and a happier experience, because of a new or different experience in the life of the animals that donated. And how was this new feeling – when it was not like the old one of my shooting and collecting dates, seeing that since childhood I have always had the same interest in all wild life? The power, beauty and grace of the wild creature, its perfect harmony with nature, the perfect connection between body, form and ability, and nature, through the preparation of essential machines, to achieve all changes; And then, in the midst of endless changes and conflicts with hostile and destructive forces, to develop form, form, form for thousands and millions of years!

Reflecting on this arising from the view of Wildness and how it sanctifies the world, Hudson writes:
