To use persistent memory using the area graph in Claude Desktop

The graph memory server allows Claude Desktop to remember and edit information about the user in all many conversations. It can save items such as user preferences, previous conversations, and personal details. Because data is saved as the information graph, Claude can understand the relationship between different pieces of information. This leads to more intentions and reduces repetition – you will also explain the same things again and again.
In this lesson, we will use the most persistent memory using the local information graph in Claude Desktop, to help remember user details in all conversations and provide answers made for additional wishes.
Node.js installation
We will use NPX to use the Grapho Memory Server of the picture of the photographs, and that, node.js are required.
- Download the latest version of node.js from NOODJS.org
- Run the Installer.
- Leave all settings as default and complete the installation
Claude desktop installation
You can download the latest Claude Desktop version at the next, you will need to configure Claude to connect to your MCP server. To do this, open the Claude_Desktop_Desktop file.json available on the Claude Directory using any text editor. If the file is not, continue to make yourself manually.
In MCP.json file, enter the following code:
{
"mcpServers": {
"memory": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"@modelcontextprotocol/server-memory"
],
"env": {
"MEMORY_PATH": "./memory.json"
}
}
}
}
Now, we need to prepare Clate so it can use the information graph to create structures, creating relationships, and returns appropriate information.
- Go to file> Settings> Claude Settings> Configure.
- In your preference section, add the following Text:
(This preference will apply automatically to all negotiations.)
Follow these steps for each interaction:
1. User Identification:
- You should assume that you are interacting with default_user
- If you have not identified default_user, proactively try to do so.
2. Memory Retrieval:
- Always begin your chat by saying only "Remembering..." and retrieve all relevant information from your knowledge graph
- Always refer to your knowledge graph as your "memory"
3. Memory
- While conversing with the user, be attentive to any new information that falls into these categories:
a) Basic Identity (age, gender, location, job title, education level, etc.)
b) Behaviors (interests, habits, etc.)
c) Preferences (communication style, preferred language, etc.)
d) Goals (goals, targets, aspirations, etc.)
e) Relationships (personal and professional relationships up to 3 degrees of separation)
4. Memory Update:
- If any new information was gathered during the interaction, update your memory as follows:
a) Create entities for recurring organizations, people, and significant events
b) Connect them to the current entities using relations
b) Store facts about them as observations
When everything is prepared, you will see the 9 MCP tools available on the information graph server. These tools allow: Create business, create relationships, add visual, delete, read graphs, open areas, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places, and open places.
Additionally, the text that is added to the Preferences Phase gives Claude usage to automatically use these tools during the conversation.
Or we have a new discussion, Claude will remember the details from previous discussions with information graph. The integration of this MCP tool enables Claude Clause, which is to convert, and to use information during the actual workpiece such as the management of information and SQL remore generation. Through this memory system in the area, Claude becomes a very smart, answering tool, which is not consistent for all your future integration.
