Global data integration expands Amazon's research capabilities rapidly

Today, we are pleased to announce a new integration between Amazon Rapid Research and S&P Global. This combination brings S&P Global Energy News, research, and insight as well as S&P Global Market Intelligence to insights for instant research clients in one in-depth research agency.
IS & P Global Integration Expands rapid research capabilities so business professionals can analyze multiple data sources – including cross-platform demand and turning weeks of research into minutes focused on insights. The Rapid Suite connects data across internal databases, popular applications, AWS services, and Model Content Protocol (MCP) content, to more than 1,000 applications. This Agentic AI application is reimagining how work is done by transforming how teams gain insights, perform deep research, transform data, and take actions that will enable applications.
In this post, we explore S&P Global's data sets and the creation of an integration solution with rapid research.
Overview
IS & P Global also pioneered the implementation of two MCP servers on AWS so that organizations can easily integrate reliable financial services and energy content into the energy flow of work while maintaining the quality, security, and reliability that business leaders demand.
“Our partnership with AWS expands how S&P Global delivers trusted intelligence to the next generation of Agentic AI OPPY. Ensuring that customers get our trusted data and insight into where their work is happening.”
– Bhavesh Dayalji, chief AI officer of S&P GLOBAL and CEO of Kensho.
IS & P GLOBAL ENEDE: Complete property and energy intelligence
The S&P Global Energy integration, now available on Amazon Quick Research, uses the AI-ready MCP server to deliver comprehensive access to Commodity and Energy Market Intelligence for the oil, gas, energy, clean sectors, agriculture, and shipping sectors in global markets. Built on S&P's global reputation as a trusted market authority, the MCP server hosts hundreds of thousands of expertly crafted articles including analyses, commentaries and news articles spanning decades of industry expertise.
The solution offers a unique Multi-Holon perspective, which provides intelligence from daily market updates to a one-year view and expands to 20+ year analysis. With 30-minute updates, business leaders get near real-time access to Commodity and Energy intelligence, accelerating decision-making opportunities when assessing regulatory challenges, investment opportunities, or environmental impacts.
IS & P Global Market Intelligence: Trusted financial intelligence
Intelligence integration of S & P Global Market Intelligence, now available on Amazon Quick Research, uses the Kensho LLM-Ready API MCP Server developed by Kenho, S & P Global's AI PP This MCP server makes reliable financial data available through natural language queries, integrating seamlessly with Amazon Quick Research. Financial professionals can access S&P capital IQ financials, earnings call documents, company information, transactions and more, by simply asking questions.
Kensho's solution addresses a critical challenge in financial services: making large repositories of financial information readily available without requiring complex query languages or technical expertise. Engineering, product, and business teams can save valuable time and resources by turning what once required hours of data extraction into accurate, reliable leads in seconds.
Structure of the solution
IS & P GLOBAL's MCP for SCP server is shown in the following diagram. When using one of the S & P integrations, the traffic flows from fast research through the Amazon API Gateway to the AWS application Balancer that manages the MCP services hosted on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Services (Amazon Eks). The MCP server uses data hosted on Amazon S3 and AWS REALL Database Service for postgresql for structured data, and Amazon OpenSearch Service for vector storage. This MCP innovation delivers MCP enterprise servers with deep security, automated smoothness, and complete recognition.
MCP is an open standard that supports seamless communication between AI agents and external data sources, tools, and services. MCP works in a client-server architecture where MCP servers handle multiple API calls and expose business logic as mock operations. This enables AI Agents to acquire dynamic dynamic capabilities, interactive features, and securely share all the critical needs of business applications.
S&P Global's solution has the following build weeks:
- Automated data pipeline with Amazon Bedrock: At the heart of the solution is a limited revenue generation (Rag) data import pipeline using Amazon Bedrock. This chip turns raw market data into AI-ready data. Documents from S&P Global's well-drilled, downhole, and enrichment prior to conversion into a bedrock model The import pipeline runs on a scheduled basis, refreshing the OpenSearch Vector store every 30 minutes for real-time energy data access.
- Vector and Semantic Search: Amazon OpenSearch works as a Vector database, the emphasis of the blocks produced by the bedrock and activates the power of smart energy data. The OpenSearch Vector store is designed for high vector performance, supporting fast, powerful searches that enable the MCP server's ability to find relevant information to answer natural language queries.
- Strength and scale: This solution uses Amazon EKS to host all MCP server solutions and two production clusters that enable automated segmentation capabilities. This dual-cluster approach provides continuous availability even with unexpected events. Both the cluster autoscaler and the horizontal pod autoscaler enable dynamic scaling based on demand. MCP Servers are built on the FastMCP framework, providing high-end HTTP Endpoints that conform to the HTTP specification for forwarding the traffic required by the MCP Protocol.
- Security: Security is built into every layer of the solution. The API Gateway serves as the final access point for the MCP Server. S&P's Global WorkPrise identity provider is used for OAUth authentication. API Gateway is also secured with AWS Web application Firewall (WAF) with advanced threat detection. AWS IAM roles roles and policies use a simple protocol, so that each entity has only one permission. AWS Secrets Manager maintains credentials to access AWS resources and services. AWS security groups and VPC configurations provide network localization, while TLS 1.2+ with AWS Chietal Manager ensures all data in transit remains encrypted. This multi-faceted security includes advanced security controls.
- Monitoring: Amazon CloudWatch provides centralized logging, metric collection, and real-time monitoring of the entire pipeline from data import through MCP server responses. AWS Clubtrail captures detailed API activity logs and audit trails, essential for compliance in regulated industries.
Lasting
Together, these MCP servers built on AWS and combined with Amazon's rapid research show S & P Global's vision for the future of financial services and finding the power to transform AI to make AI intelligence to make that intelligent intervention.
